Best time to visit
Peak season is October through April, when the desert is warm-not-scorching. Greater Palm Springs Pride (November) is the signature weekend — parade and festival downtown. The Dinah (spring) is the world's largest lesbian/queer-women's event. Summer is quiet, cheap, and blisteringly hot — poolside season for the heat-tolerant. Any weekend delivers: Friday on Arenas, Saturday poolside and a drag show, Sunday brunch at Oscar's.
Getting around
Arenas Road itself is fully walkable, and downtown is close by. Palm Springs is otherwise car- and rideshare-dependent, with everything a short hop apart. A free downtown Buzz trolley runs Thursday–Sunday.
