- •Florida's statewide climate is another story: legislative attacks on trans healthcare and drag make vigilance real, particularly for trans siblings and for Black and brown folks navigating racism and homophobia at once.
- •The Drive skews white, cis, and male; QTPOC and trans travelers sometimes find it less warm than advertised — seek out mixed nights, and support the Black- and brown-led spaces and DJs building alternatives.

Best time to visit
Stonewall Pride Wilton Manors in June — the Drive's massive street festival and one of the best block-party Prides anywhere. Winter (Dec–Mar) is peak season for sun and crowds. Any weekend delivers: Friday on the Drive, Saturday at the beach and a drag show, Sunday brunch at Rosie's.
Getting around
The Drive itself is fully walkable. Fort Lauderdale is otherwise car- and rideshare-dependent; Wilton Manors, the beach, and downtown are a short rideshare apart. Free community trolleys run seasonally.
