Announced lineup: Aline Brooklyn, Carlita, Chloé Caillet, Demi Riquísimo, DJ Tennis, Konstantin, Krol, Larry LateNight, Map.ache, Palms Trax, PAWSA, Prospa, Rossi., Seth Troxler and Skream. Miami is not one queer scene — it's a dozen, layered on top of each other and spoken in at least three languages. The real cultural engine — the ballroom houses, the Afro-Latin drag, the trans-led mutual aid — has long run through Little Haiti, Liberty City, Wynwood's edges, and the Latin corridors. Is Miami safe for LGBTQ+ travelers?

Mostly yes — Miami and Miami Beach are used to a queer crowd, and South Beach in particular is openly LGBTQ+ friendly with a long history of gay nightlife. The city is bilingual, Caribbean and Latin American at its core, and community spaces here were built in resistance. The bigger caution is Florida state law, which has moved hard against trans people and drag in recent years.

Is Miami safe for LGBTQ+ travelers?

South Beach, especially around 12th Street and Ocean Drive, is the most openly queer footprint and comfortable day and night. Wynwood and Little Haiti are lively but emptier between venues, so plan rides after dark. The usual big-city awareness around the late-night club districts applies.

Is Miami safe for trans and nonbinary travelers?

Trans travelers should carry documentation and their own prescriptions, since Florida has restricted gender-affirming care and targeted drag performance. Inside Miami's queer venues you'll find real affirmation, and the city's ballroom and kiki scenes are led by Black and Latinx performers who look after their own.

Where is the gay area of Miami?

South Beach is the historic hub, with the 12th Street beach as the community's gathering spot. For Afro-Latin and Caribbean queer nightlife, look toward Little Havana, Little Haiti and Wynwood rather than the Ocean Drive circuit.
