Gaslamp Quarter
Sixteen blocks of clubs, rooftops, and restaurants downtown — San Diego's most famous nightlife strip. Not a gay district, but it's a 10-minute rideshare from Hillcrest and where mixed groups and bachelorette-heavy crowds end up on Saturdays.
North Park
A short ride east of Hillcrest: the San Diego Eagle, Pecs, and Redwing anchor the city's leather, bear, and neighborhood-bar side, wrapped in one of the best craft-beer strips in California.
University Heights & Normal Heights
Just north and east of Hillcrest, these are the quiet-drink neighborhoods — patios, dive bars, and rooms where you can hear each other. Good first stop before the Hillcrest dance floors.
Pacific Beach & Ocean Beach
